Candace Got Her 1st Dunk

My girl CP3 got her first dunk of her WNBA career. I have been waiting for this thing to go down, and versus the fever, a game the Sparks wanted to avenge, after losing to them by 2 in double o/t a few weeks ago.

Sparks Lose To SilverStars

SAN ANTONIO — Ann Wauters had 21 points and Sophia Young had 20 to lead San Antonio to a 77-75 victory over the Sparks on Friday night, the Silver Stars’ fifth consecutive victory.

Becky Hammon had 19 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Silver Stars.

The matchup of the top two teams in the Western Conference seemed to be in hand when the Silver Stars took a 52-34 lead with 7:01 left in the third quarter.

But Candace Parker, who finished with 27 points and nine rebounds, keyed a furious comeback by the Sparks, who had won four consecutive games.

Parker had 12 points in the fourth quarter and her free throws with 14.2 seconds left cut the Sparks’ deficit to 75-73.

But Hammon was fouled on the other end with 12.8 seconds left and made both free throws to all but seal the victory and keep the Silver Stars perfect at home this season.

Lisa Leslie had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Sparks, and Kiesha Brown also had 11 points.

The Silver Stars ended the second quarter on an 11-2 run to take a 45-28 lead.

Offseason rumors

• With the Lakers flaming out in the Finals, it didn’t take long for speculation about Lamar Odom to begin. A number of teams covet Odom because of his expiring contract.

I’d expect the Lakers to hear from the Nets (for Richard Jefferson), the Bulls (for Andres Nocioni), the Kings (for Ron Artest) and the Grizzlies (for Mike Miller).

The Lakers and Grizzlies, as you might remember, have a history.

Candace Parker playing on a bad “knee” still managed to get 15pts on 7-15 shooting with 9rbs, and 2asst, and 2blocks. The Sparks were stellar in the second half, and the big 3 did not disappoint, but Parker was wincing noticeably, while wearing a sleeve on that knee. Get well soon Candace, with Big Syl down, we need you to be at your best for the olympics.

50 trying to get back on top, so now T.I.

June 14, 2008. just got its hands on some EXPLOSIVE new lyrics to a song called You So Tough on the G-Unit album. In it, he suggests that Atlanta rapper T.I. has become a confidential informant to federal agents.

Here are some of 50’s shocking lyrics

Nowadays this rap sh*t ain’t adding up,
How nigg*s get caught with 10 machine guns, only get 12 months?
Oo-weee, don’t talk to me
If you talking to him, you talking to them…

I got the best lawyers that money can buy
They say at best they woulda got me 10 or maybe 9.
I said, how do you explain how the homie breezed?
They said, you keep your mouth shut or you eat the cheese.

And now … ladies and gentlemen … the world of hip hop just got a whole lot more interesting. Love 50 or hate him, where would hip hop be without him …..

Alexis Hornbuckle has a Double Double

Alexis Hornbuckle recorded a double double today against the Mecury. She played a great all-around game. Bucky as she is known by UT fans, is as great a rebounder in the WNBA as she was in college. 4 of the UT starters, in which 3 are starters for their WNBA teams are all that and more on the NEXT level. Keep creating greatness Pat.

Kevin Garnett gives the Lakers the motivation they need to WIN

KG has finally given Kobe what he needed to make HISTORY. Those comments, though true to some point, will surely light a fire under OUR entire TEAM. It’s one thing that I do know, and this finals will be the display of great TEAM BALL. We have proven time and time again that when we play TEAM BALL, Boston CANNOT play with us. Now we are going to play this thing for the next 144 minutes. It’s a 1st time for everything, and the Lakers will be the first to comeback from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals. Let’s Go Lakers.

Fear Not, Believe ONLY!!!

At this time in Lakerland it “seems” bleak, but it should not be so right now. I have watched the Lakers in 3 decades now, and I have had far more UPs than DOWNS! I have seen some of the most (what I call) horrendous breakdowns, and some of the most exhilarating comebacks! And what we as fans of the game are about to witness is the FIRST EVER COMEBACK IN THE NBA FINALS FROM A 3-1 DEFICIT!

I know people are thinking, this person just loves the Lakers, and is talking with her heart as a fan, but know that I just TRULY BELIEVE. This team has all the components to become NBA CHAMPIONS THIS SEASON, and that’s exactly what will HAPPEN!This is not about having the best closer in the game (Kobe Bryant), or the Hall of Fame coach with Phil Jackson, it’s because we have a TEAM! A team made up of basketball BROTHERS! A team that has the DNA of Kobe Bryant, that I will not lose DNA!
