The Lakers took to the court Saturday afternoon to take on the high powered offense of the Denver Nuggets, and unlike the previous 4 games, this time they had their anchor in the middle: ANDREW BYNUM. And oh what an impact the InCredible Bynum made scoring 29pts/13rbs/2blks. It’s funny because the first question that came from analysts after seeing Bynum’s season debut was, “do Laker fans still want to trade Bynum?”
All I want to say is what I have been saying all along, the only thing that separates Bynum from Howard is health. Now don’t get it twisted we all know how important that is, but I want to point out that having Mike Brown as coach may be the best thing for Bynum. Why? Because the emphasis for the team is defense, and Bynum knows that as long as he gobbling rebouds, and playing big in the paint, his touches will stay frequent. What he did today was simply impressive. My stance on trading Bynum was simply, if we traded for Howard it would be a “straight” up trade, definitely not Gasol/Bynum for Howard. Bynum alone is worth Howard, and he proved it today. Also, let it not go unnoticed Kobe Bryant’s near triple double 17/10/9, & the 37yr. old Fisher getting on the floor! Is it me or is the problem not that the Lakers still starting Fish, but the fact that all the point guards they bring in can’t take his job? And we thank Steve Blake for getting back and making Gallinaro lose his focus on the game tying lay up. We get to see this same team again, but this time in Denver! Looking for the same outcome.
