3 time Wnba champion, Swin Cash, has been traded to the Chicago Sky, along with LeCoe Willingham for Chicago’s #2 pick in the 2012 Wnba draft. I would consider this to be a good trade for both teams. Chicago has youth on it’s team, what it’s lacking is experience, along with a championship mentality. As much as I love Sylvia Fowles (now that she is not at LSU going against my Lady Vols) she hasn’t won anything. Although her hunger is there, you need a player who has been there to help lead the way, and Swin Cash is that perfect piece.

Now looking at what Seattle could possibly be getting to add to that core of Bird & Jackson is a slew of wnba ready players. Stanford’s Ogwumike, and the chance that Britney Griner could forgo her senior season is a lot to consider. To add either one of those players with Jackson & Bird, automatically keeps them in the running for the ship. With Minnesota being loaded (half of the roster will play for a gold medal in London) teams really have to step up to the plate. I’m so happy that the Sparks hold this years #1 draft pick, whomever you give Candace Parker, youth wise can only help. She has yet to play with a skilled pg since Bobbitt left, and the sparks need one badly. But you can’t risk losing out on a impact player like Nneka or Griner should she come out.
I would love it, if somehow the Sparks got Nneka (if Griner stays..and why wouldn’t she? unless she has endorsement deals waiting for her) and a player like Glory Johnson to add to Candace, DMJ, Jantel Lavendar…that’s a team that can win. Tell me who would you take #1? Ogwumike or Griner?
