South Carolina’s star running back, Marcus Lattimore, suffered a very severe knee injury today versus Tennessee, as he was hit helmet to knee. The Junior running back was just getting back to form after suffering a season ending injury last year to the other knee (torn acl).

Seeing that hit today live you knew it wasn’t good. The look of horror on Marcus face when he looked down at his leg told the entire story. That it is going to take a miracle from God to see him back on the field again. No details were given out of the specifics of the injury as of yet, but after the reporter spoke concerning the emotional state of Marcus & his mother…its just heartbreaking.

Every announcer spoke of how awesome a man Marcus is, and how no matter what happens they know he will be okay. I want to back up that sentiment saying the same. Coming from a faith filled background, I just hope that his family won’t let him give up, because Marcus is everything that’s good for the game of football. My heart goes out to his family, and I pray that the injury only look worse than it is, and there is an NFL team that will take a chance on Duncan, SC finest. #RebelNation Stand-Up

UPDATE:  The word from the doctors is Marcus has a BROKEN FEMUR, BROKEN PATELLA, TORN ACL, TORN PCL, TORN MCL, & TORN LCL, which basically means he tore every ligament in his knee. Please keep the prayers going for this young man. It’s not over til God says it’s over. I believe in miracles.

Dwayne Wade Divorce Just Went South??

Houston Convention Center
NBA star Dwyane Wade’s divorce is getting nastier by the minute.  According to ESPN, Dwyane has asked a court for sole custody of his two sons and has requested that his ex-wife Siohvaughn undergo psychological examination.

Documents obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press show Wade alleges his wife Siohvaughn cannot “be considered a fit and proper person” to raise their children. In more than 300 pages of filings, the All-Star says his wife exhibited threatening behavior, had extramarital affairs, uses abusive parenting methods and is unwilling to let the 2006 NBA finals MVP see his children. The couple has two boys, ages 8 and 2.
“For more than two years, I have tried to make peace with Siohvaughn concerning our divorce and custody of our kids,” Wade said in a statement released to The AP. “I no longer believe that’s possible. Siohvaughn has consistently attempted to interrupt or prevent me from having visitation time with our boys.”
Siohvaughn Wade’s behavior “has made it evident that she is unstable, dishonest, unbalanced, unwilling to accept responsibility for her actions, not of good character, and therefore, unfit to be a custodial parent,”

This from ESPN’s Ric Bucher on his podcast today. No further details from Ric about when this inquiry incurred or what, if anything specific, the Lakers offered to give up. No handicapping from him, either, on the odds of a deal, so just throw it on the rumor pile.
For what it’s worth, a trade for Devin Harris would be pretty easy to get done under the salary cap. He makes a relatively modest $8.4 million this year and has three years (after this one) left on this contract.
A combination of Adam Morrison and either Jordan Farmar or Shannon Brown would satisfy salary-matching rules and free up money for New Jersey to make their offseason free-agent push.

My thoughts on this trade happening is this: get it done Mitch, only if the deal does NOT include Shannon Brown. Devin Harris is definitely a point guard for the future. Devin is averaging 16pts/6asst, which would be a great boost in both departments for my Laker team at the point guard position. Honestly I believe this “rumor” because I know Mitch is looking for our next point guard to take over for Derek.Though Jordan Farmar has gotten better, he is just not consistent enough for this team. He has more of a score first mentality, and a player like Devin would  be like a kid in a candy store on this team, becoming an assist leader like Chris Paul, or even Steve Nash. I have a feeling the only thing “holding” up this deal, would be the Lakers reluctance to give up Shannon Brown in the deal. And no matter what Mitch, don’t give up Shannon Brown!

Sidenote: Shannon Brown is set to co-star in singer Teyana Taylor’s new video. Check out Teyana’s tweets from earlier today between her and her assistant Eli

Andrew Bynum for Chris Bosh??? Let’s Explore

Well today all the hoop-la begin about a “possible” trade between the Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Lakers. This trade would include All-Star forward Chris Bosh, and future All-Star center Andrew Bynum. Now being a Laker fan this “trade” is so intriguing to me. When I look in depth at this possible trade, having Chris Bosh on this Laker team could be an absolute blessing. Chris Bosh is long, and versatile. He has descent handles for a big guy (nothing to really brag on) but knowing that he can hit that 17ft me great joy. We also know that he stays in the top 10 in rebounding, so it’s nothing that he’ll have to be “motivated” to do, night in and out. Also watching Chris play with the U.S. Olympic team, he understood his role coming off the bench with those guys, and I don’t think it would be a problem for him to be the 3rd option on this star-studded team. And think about him playing with Ron Artest. Ron’s 3pt shot just becomes more open. Chris wants to win, and he is very humble already, so on that note the Lakers would become almost virtually unbeatable.

But then there is the “size” that’s being given up, in terms of strength. Bynum is built like a tank, with massive arms, and he knows how to utilize that height. When Pau Gasol is not in the game, we have noticed how dominate he can be, but the problem for us is when Pau is in the game, Bynum is almost non-existent. This trade could be great for him as well, because it would allow him to be a “legit” focal point for a team, night in and night out. He definitely is capable of putting up big numbers, so Toronto would not be losing much in that aspect.

The Lakers would have to include a couple of players in order for this trade to even potentially go down, so first to go would be Adam Morrison, who I honestly believe if he can stay on the floor is able to put up descent scoring numbers for a team, and Jordan Farmar. Now Farmar is one of those players, that has me straddling the fence. One minute I want him gone, then he scores 20, and get’s steals, and I want him to stay. Yet the one thing that proves to me is he is inconsistent. Can we really have that on a championship caliber NBA team, and expect to keep winning? I’m not so sure. Honestly I would rather give up Sasha, but with his “bad” contract we can’t give him away, so that leaves Farmar. I did this trade: ESPNTRADEMACHINE. What I was surprised by the most, was the +8 wins for the Lakers, even with the bench losing two guys. That says alot.

We know that Phil Jackson would definitely love this trade, along with Kobe Bryant. So the question is, how much more in debt would this put Dr. Buss? Would it take long for Bosh to learn the triangle? Or would he be able to adapt quickly like Pau? And the most important question…is this trade even necessary to solidify the Lakers chances at a repeat? Lakers fans hit me up and let me know.

Ron Artest press conference to address his concussion

I’m not sure what to think about this. But one thing is for sure, my Lakers need Artest on the court. So I hope he gets well soon.

We know he is definitely from the hood, but I don’t think his “wife” did this to So unless he was drunk, I have no idea what could have happened.

If it was a fight with someone, wouldn’t that have come out? I don’t know…but one thing is for sure, if he is lying, it will come out, it always does. For now, I will just go with what Ron is saying.
