See this is why I will now and forever support So So Def and Jermaine Dupri. It’s hard enough to get fathers to even be a part of their children lives these days, but I super excited to see him take this time to share part of his life with his daughter Shaniah. I think about Michael Jackson saying he wanted to do the “This Is It” tour, because he wanted his kids to get to see him perform. I’m not saying that’s what Jermaine is thinking, but it’s definitely a great thing to see. She will be on the road with him all week, their first stop was Nelly’s 4th annual Black & White Ball in St. Louis. Check out this episode of living the life. Read the rest of this entry »

Please, please, please tell me this is an awful joke? I have no idea the thought pattern of this mother of 15, but surely this can’t be a “serious” plea for help. Honestly I wonder if the news didn’t run this story to put a negative spin on the black community, or if they truly thought they could help her out by allowing her to speak concerning her situation? I will go with the first thought. Lord please help us. The thing that sticks out in this video, where DSS say they are trying to help Angel Adams with the kids, they showed one of the fathers, and all he had to say was ‘he hoped the kids were placed in a good home..” uh why the county not trying to get him to get the ones he fathered? This is crazy.

See this is what I been talking about lately. Every time you turn on the news, there is a story about a child being killed or abused in some way. I know this has been happening in the world, but it just seem its coming more & more to the forefront now.

(blackmediaSCOOP) The body of a 2-year-old New Jersey girl was found strapped into her car seat and submerged in a river Tuesday just one day after her father failed to return her to her mother after a court-approved visit, authorities and the mother of a witness said.
A manhunt is now underway for Arthur E. Morgan III, who is wanted for questioning in the death of his 2 year old daughter Tierra Morgan.

A group of boys discovered the child’s body partially submerged in a stream in Shark River Park in Monmouth County, New Jersey.

A 15-year-old boy who alerted a park ranger to the body today said the girl was under the water and strapped into her car seat.

The stream runs directly beneath an overpass, suggesting the child and car seat were thrown from the overpass, said county prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.

Morgan has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and interference with custody, authorities said. Those charges were lodged before Tierra’s body was found.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Morgan, and his bail was set at $200,000.

(blackmediaSCOOP) A nationwide manhunt ended Tuesday when a New Jersey man wanted for allegedly murdering his toddler daughter was captured in San Diego.

A Task Force arrested 27-year-old Arthur E. Morgan III without drama by U.S. Marshals Service.

Morgan allegedly killed his 2-year-old daughter, Tierra, on Nov. 21 by throwing her from a bridge over a stream in a park in Wall Township, N.J., while she was strapped in a child car seat.

A group of teens found the child’s body face-down and partially submerged in the waterway the following day.

New Jersey authorities recently got information that the suspect might be staying with friends in San Diego and alerted marshals.

Word on the street is that Morgan and the child’s mother were involved in a very bitter custody dispute, and the alleged slaying occurred just after the dad took the child to a court-appointed visit.

[Video] Bow Wow “Underrated” Webisode 3

When I watched this Webisode it took me through an evolution of Bow Wow. From Lil Bow Wow, to Bow, from rapper to actor, from boy to man, and now Fatherhood! This evolution has taken some getting use to from his fans, with his style changing up from squeaky clean image to channeling at times his “uncle” Snoop Dogg.
But I must say this album is much anticipated from Bow. I love hearing a star speak on their on behalf. Letting there fans know what’s real and what’s fake. Bow Wow, since becoming a father took to his own blog to speak about becoming a father, the delay of his album, and his relationships. Things that he could simply leave out there for people to continue to speculate about, but instead he decided to put it all into the music. It’s how he connects with his fans. Inspirational Message of the Day

Tyler Perry sent a very thought provoking email to parents. Did You Know?

On to the reason I’m writing. A few days ago, I was in the car on my way to set when we stopped at a red light. I looked up from my script and saw a father walking across the street holding his son’s hand. The child couldn’t have been more then 2 or 3years old, this kid was giddy with joy. I watched this man and his son go into the park and start running and playing. The light changed and as we drove away, I turned around in the back seat to watch them until they were out of sight. My eyes filled with water, I thought to myself, this is really a strange reaction. I was thinking, why did I have such a strong emotional reaction to this father and son? It didn’t take long for me to realize that it was because I never had those kind of experiences, never knew that kind of unconditional joy, never knew what it felt like to be wanted and adored as a child.

Which made me think of this question. I wonder if the man I called ‘Daddy’ as a child, knew then what he knows now, would he have treated me any differently? If he had known, the little boy that depended on him for food and shelter would grow up to be a man that he would have to depend on for food and shelter, would he have made different choices? I realized that my emotion to that moment was about this man loving his child in the purest sense. No matter what the future holds for that little boy, he will always have that moment with his daddy loving him, for him.

There is an old song written by the Gaither’s called, MARY, DID YOU KNOW? It’s a beautiful song asking Mary, the mother of Jesus, the question, “Did you know that her baby boy would come to save the world?” The lyrics go on to ask, “Mary did you know that when you kissed the little baby, you kissed the face of God?” My favorite lyric is this one, “Mary, did you know that the child that you delivered will soon deliver you?” That last line makes me think of my own mother. Before she died she often said to me that she had no idea that her little baby boy would be able to take care of her the way I did. I get so much joy knowing that I could and I did. That lets me sleep at night. Mom, I thank you! You helped me be able to do that. God bless you!

I want to leave you with these questions. It’s for every parent, the good and the bad. DO YOU KNOW who is in your house? DO YOU KNOW whom you’re raising, and will the child that you delivered, have to deliver you in your old age? Think about it, and know that when you kiss that innocent face of your child, you kiss the face of God.

God Bless, talk soon.

Happy Fathers Day, to all the fathers out there. I know the job is not an easy one, but somehow there are those who truly take the job seriously. And for those fathers I show my deepest gratitude. I was told that you don’t have to thank someone for doing what they should be doing…and honestly, I don’t believe in that. Because if you don’t thank someone for what they do, you find yourself taking it for granted, and no matter what the situation one should feel as if they have been taken for granted. So again, to all the men, who have accepted the part they played in becoming ONE with a female, which produced your child, THANK YOU.

When I realized I would do a post for Father’s Day, I sat and thought about who can I spotlight, a few names came to mind, so here are a few of their stories, from my perspective. What is a Father? And what does it take to be a good one?
Well according to the dictionary

any male ancestor, especially the founder of a race, family, or line; progenitor. a man who exercises paternal care over other persons; paternal protector or provider: a father to the poor.
the Father, Theology . the first person of the assume as one’s own; take the responsibility of. Read the rest of this entry »
