Ah the NBA is back, and it did not fail to deliver in it’s excitement on Christmas day. After watching the Celtics lose by one, on a KG missed attempt at the end, followed by a subsequent choke out of Bill Walker by KG. Then an absolute embarrassing banner raising day for the defending champions, Dallas Mavericks at the hands of the Miami Heat. I really didn’t know what to expect from my new look Lakers. I was nervous and excited all at the same time. Read the rest of this entry »
Ah when it rains it pours. Word just came from the Lakers that all-star guard, Kobe Bryant, suffered a torn ligament in the preseason game vs the Clippers. The future hall of famer is listed as day to day.
I’ll tell ya, as a Laker fan, it just seems that the hill is getting steeper and steeper for this seasons Laker team. With failed Chris Paul trade, to the departure of Lamar Odom, and the uncertainty of Pau & Drew even being on the team all season (being that the Lakers still hope to land Dwight Howard). It makes it hard to understand what Jim Buss is doing. Nonetheless, I’m a Lakers fan for life, so at the end of the day you have to take the good with the bad. For anyone who has ever had a torn ligament anywhere, you know there is no true time table for healing…I tore a ligament in my finger, and after about 3weeks it was healed…a wrist..ah..may take longer. So that’s 5 games without Bynum from the beginning, and now Kobe..this is going to be crazy! Right now, it’s looking bad.
I don’t know what to think when I’m watching Teyana’s live show here. Teyana is live on tour in Amsterdam opening up for rapper the Game. She shows off her many talents of rapping and singing as she does a medley of songs, from Beyonce’s Run The World, to Janet’s Pleasure Principle. After being a super supporter of the young singer/rapper, and talking with her as a fan on ustream, (heck she even knew my name..lol), I definitely didn’t think I would see her on stage gettin it in like this. Now we all know that Teyana’s workout regime, along with her own fashion ideas, would keep her in the limelight, along with her many other talents, but her stress on purity, being a virgin till she gets married is what mostly drawed a lot of young girls to look up to her. Will this tarnish that image? Maybe not, because we all know that this is showbiz, and does not mean that what we see in the video, has anything to do with what’s really going on in her personal life, but it is important to understand that most of the teens watching, only see the video. So this is where we are now? SMH, I have no words, but see for yourself.
Slavery the Game isn’t a game — at least, we really hope it’s not — but it is a wonderful example of just how warped the Internet’s sense of humor and decency is. Slavery the Game’s website is horrifyingly legit at first glance, boasting a trailer, contact information, share buttons, the insignia for Xbox 360, PS3, PC and an ESRB rating of AO (Adults Only).
These are lined up at the bottom of the site, right next to the overwhelming sense of relief we felt when we realized neither 360 nor PS3 release AO titles. Further, the ESRB doesn’t list a rating for anything called Slavery the Game and the proposed developer, Javelin Reds Gaming, doesn’t exist. One YouTube version of the trailer credits The Creative Assembly with making Slavery the Game, but it isn’t mentioned anywhere on The Creative Assembly’s site. We’ve contacted The Creative Assembly for clarification.
We do wonder, if Slavery the Game isn’t a game (and it’s not; notice the lack of italics here), does it have a larger goal, or is this it; a mysterious website with a gruesome reminder that society can be a more powerful force than individual morality? We thought we already had one of those.
I have always love the Game’s flow over a hot beat. His metaphors are only to be compared to a rapper such as Fabolous. His brand new album: R.E.D. ALBUM, is due to be released 8/23. So far my favorite song is ALL THE WAY GONE, featuring Wale and Mario. Check it out below, and make sure to cop Game album.
