Chris Paul could become a Laker this weekend. After Commissioner Stern vetoed the first trade, which would have sent Pau Gasol to the Rockets, Lamar Odom to the Hornets, along with Rockets Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, & Goran Dragic. Now I’m seeing that the Celtics have agreed to trade Jermaine Oneal to the Hornets (which he would actually become a Laker) to become a part of a package that the Lakers would send to Orlando in hopes of landing the 3 time Defensive Player of the year. I’m not sure what the Celtics would get back in return for him ( But seriously, I just want this deal to be done, because Lamar may not decide to recover from this, and I feel bad for Pau, but we all know this is part of the game.

The bottom line is this, Dwight Howard was pushing for a trade to New Jersey because the NBA nixed the Chris Paul trade. So it’s my belief that when he seen that, playing with Deron become his 2nd choice of pg’s to play with. But now that the trade is still possible, he got permission from Orlando to talk with the Lakers, (also the Mavs, & Nets), so we have to see what happens. But the truth is, I really don’t believe the Mavs have a true chance if they have to give up Jason Kidd, because Howard wants to play with an all-star caliber guard. Someone that can get him the ball in his comfortable spots. Chris Paul is definitely the one he would want to play with.

The Mavericks will sign Vince Carter to a 1yr deal, so I wonder will the Lakers take a look at Rip Hamilton, just to add depth to the roster? Because once the trades go down (if they go down) the bench will have to be revamped. Ah no sleep till the deal is done.

Let me take you through my day, as it pertained to this trade that did not happen.

So I woke up, getting ready for work, check my messages and see that a deal has been made between the Laker/Rockets/Hornets where the Lakers would receive Chris Paul, Pau Gasol to the Rockets, and the Hornets would get Luis Scola, Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin & Goran Dragic. Honestly as a Laker fan, I didn’t know how to feel at first. When I seen Lamar’s name included in the trade, my heart sunk a bit. I know it’s a business, and getting Chris Paul, I knew we would have to give up 2 guys, but I just didn’t want it to be L.O. But as I got to work, and begin reading the tweets, and reports of the deal, I began to get excited. Just the thought of Chris and Kobe in that back-court and imagine the possibility. I’m telling all of my co-workers, the Lakers got Chris Paul. Then BOOM!!! Someone comes up to me and says: David stern vetoed the deal! Okay…Now what? Read the rest of this entry »

OMG!! The NBA is back baby. Time to let the trade rumors fly…first up, the green men (Celtics) are looking to do another thing to break up their great on court chemistry…and that’s trading pg Rajon Rondo (possibly) to the Hornets for Chris Paul. Now this is NO slight to Paul, but after watching Kevin Garnett & crew literally break down after Kendrick Perkins was traded, not to mention how they folded in the playoffs, I’m not sure if this group will make it back to the top with Chris Paul at the helm. To me chemistry means a lot. Understand why I’m saying this: because Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, & Ray Allen are a group of guys that truly regard each other as family..and that’s how they see their teammates. Although they are all professionals and understand the nature of the business, they allow their emotions to show visably and it generally is not good for them as a team. Like I said, go back to last season when Perkins was traded. Now with that said, getting Chris Paul is never a bad idea..but I’m not convinced he will be wearing Green and White this year. But if Boston is willing to give Rajon up for anyone says to me, something is not right in that locker room…cause he is still young, and has great skills, so why trade him?
