Our friends over at Kicksologists informed us that Nike has scheduled a release date for the highly anticipated Zoom Kobe VII.
Nike has released a statement describing the latest Kobe Bryant signature shoe, and is set to release the kicks on Dec. 22.
What makes this particular pair of shoes different from most is the extreme amount of customization that you can do with it. While everyone knows about different colorways and such, the Zoom Kobe VII can be completely molded to meet your specific demands on the court.
The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme edition, which is both the shoe and the removable parts, includes two interchangeable insert options that allow players to switch out the cushioning and ankle support to match their style of play. 33 years ago a legend was born to Pam & Joe Bryant: KOBE BEAN BRYANT. Happy birthday to the best basketball player active in the game today. Kobe has already attained so much from the game, and done so much…he is a lock to the Hall of Fame when he retires, and I can unequivocally say, he is the closet thing you have seen to Michael Jordan..PERIOD. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick continues his road to redemption. Nike has brought Vick back into the fold. I was really hoping to see this happen. They did it with Kobe Bryant and now Vick…Nike is one company who doesn’t continue to hold grudges against athletes. I love it!
CNBC’s Darren Rovell reported on Friday that Nike and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick have agreed to a new deal, four years after Nike terminated its contract with Vick due to his arrest on dogfighting charges.
“Michael acknowledges his past mistakes,” Nike spokesman Derek Kent told Rovell. “We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.”
Joel Segal, Vick’s agent, told CNBC that the star quarterback is “excited to have a long-term and strong relationship with Nike.”
Vick served 18 months in prison and two months of home confinement after pleading guilty to running a dogfighting operation in 2007.
The 31-year-old, who was once the highest-paid player in the NFL, signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009.
