NEW VIDEO: LIL WAYNE-HOW TO LOVE

Lil Wayne dropped his brand new video for his single: HOW TO LOVE. The song is getting so much airplay, I heard it while looking for cleaning supplies in a Dollar General..lol. The video however gives me even more reason to love the song. I’m not the biggest Lil Wayne fan, but it’s joints like this that won’t allow me to turn him completely off. Director Chris Robinson, who also directed Monica’s “Love All Over Me” mini movie, took this song, and created a story that everyone needs to see. The video parallel’s the life of a young lady, who goes through some very deep trials, as one life shows the horror that can come out of childhood traumas, and the other shows the goodness that can come out of right decisions. He really needs to bless us with more joints like this, or do we give all the credit to the Director who interpreted the song and came up with this? Nonetheless, I love it.

INSPIRATION OF THE WEEK: GLOBAL14 YOUTH EMPOWERMENT [WHO ARE YOU? LIFE IS SHORT]

I believe I will always be an advocate to help young people realize early in life WHO THEY ARE. I know we tell them constantly, “you have your whole life ahead of you” but the problem with that phrase is…we don’t know how long that will be. Life is too short. It’s time from an early age to find out who God created you to be, and become that. Tell me your thoughts.

Kobe & Vanessa take A Stand Against Youth Homelessness

20110608-033330.jpg

More of these type stories need to be told. We always here about the negative things athletes do..time to report the good.

LOS ANGELES — Kobe Bryant had plenty to say about how he wants to help end homelessness among youth in Los Angeles. The NBA superstar had nothing to say about new Lakers coach Mike Brown.

Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, appeared together at a nonprofit in Hollywood on Tuesday to announce the formation of their new foundation focused on improving the lives of youth and families in need.

Bryant has remained publicly mum since Brown was hired last week over his choice of Brian Shaw, a longtime Lakers assistant under recently retired coach Phil Jackson.

In his first public appearance since then, Bryant refused to answer questions about Brown.

“Right now is not the time nor the place,” he said in a stern tone. “We’re here to focus on bigger issues, greater issues, and that’s these kids that are here at the back. It’s not fair to them. When the time comes, I will address that, but right now is not that time.”

Asked when that time would be, Bryant cut off his questioner, saying, “Now is not the time.”

The Bryants spent about 20 minutes talking privately with some of the young people who frequent the nonprofit A Friend’s Place on Hollywood Boulevard. They told them how they ended up homeless.
