Jermaine Dupri, Record label CEO, grammy award winning producer/songwriter, and now social network creator. The Music Mogul has joined the ranks of Mark Zuckerberg, Tom Anderson and Dick Wolfe, the creators of Facebook and Myspace, and is taking social networking from social notifying, back to it’s original intent…building relationships. With over 27,000 members Global 14, is the next big thing in social networking. To make his site stand out even further, and to expand his them of “actual social networking” versus speaking in 140 characters or less, Dupri is taking his network on tour. Dupri will be hitting 14 cities in 14 days, to have personal meet and greet sessions with his members, whom he affectionately calls Lifers (G-force). So today Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg spoke about the new plans for his social network, all while making sure to get a few jokes in on Twitter and Myspace.
It’s unfortunate that to me Facebook has lost it’s core meaning, a place to connect or stay connected with family and friends. A place that could be more intimate.
