WORD OF THE DAY: DON’T DIE WITH YOUR GIFTS IN YOU

Proverbs 18:16 "A man’s gifts makes room for him and brings before great men."

Good Evening,

The other day while on the phone with one of very best friends, I took a minute to encourage, lift her up, and motivate her to make sure she never give up hope! To ensure that she would continually be focused on the plan (hope) that God has for her life. See I know that when it seems as if it is taking forever to see something manifest, we can easily be discouraged, or dissuaded in what God has spoken. Well as I was speaking something came out of my mouth that I KNOW wasn’t from me (haha I had never even thought on that level). I said, "If you die with that hope(plan) still in you, you won’t even be able to REST IN PEACE." When I said it, I had to pause for a moment, and my friend did the same…and immediately we both knew that was revelation from above right there.

The scripture tells us that though the flesh dies, the spirit lives forever. It’s almost as if there is no way to escape the word of God for your life. He is so dedicated to seeing us become who He destined us to be that He bound Himself by His word saying, "it shall not return to Him void (producing any effect, useless), but it shall accomplish that which I please and PURPOSE, and it shall prosper (break out, come mightily, go over, be profitable) in the thing for which I sent it." For those who read my blog consistently yall know my mantra: "It would be a shame to have lived this life and never become who God destined you to be." It’s as if you were never born. So you see why the owner who gave the servants talents (in Matthew 25) was so upset with the servant who "buried" his talent and never put it to use? The gifts/talents that the Father has given us is without repentance (regret), and He intends for us to take them, and grow to higher levels with them. For instance, if you can sing, nurture that gift, learn all about it (grow it). Take vocal lessons to strengthen the gift to get all you can out of it. Sing all the time (multiply the gift). Never take it for granted by misusing it, or abusing (such as smoking, or never exercising it). The gift will make room for you and bring you before great men (people in influential positions, or high authority)…think of the likes of Jennifer Hudson or John Legend, or the likes of President Obama or Oprah Winfrey.



Don’t die with the gift still in you! It was given to you to bless someone’s life whether it’s one person or millions, you are responsible for the gift/talent given to you. Now bless God today (by using your gift).



So the question is: When you die will you rest in peace?

SPIRITUAL FOOD OF THE WEEK: RESIST THE DEVIL

 “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee.”-James 4:7

 

 Good morning everyone!

Today I want to talk to you about temptation. It’s something that we ALL will endure at some point in our lives. No person is immune to temptation being presented to them. Remember Christ was sent into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to purposely be tempted by the devil! On purpose! Now think about that….I’ll wait! 

“Then Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for 40 days. Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.”-Luke 4: 1-2

This morning as I was meditating on the Word, the Spirit of God (He is just so awesome), began to help me to understand the proper tactic (remember our weapons are not carnal..but mighty THROUGH GOD 2Cor10:4) in which to handle all types of temptations that we may face. See this weapon I’m about to share with you, is one that is mighty THROUGH God, for the tearing down of strongholds, to destroy FALSE arguments (for example I read an article stating that sex before marriage is not fornication, rather that was spoken in the bible days because women were looked at as property, and in order for the women to be valuable she needed to be a virgin..hahaha..okay back to business), and to destroy every obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. 

The weapon is….YOUR MOUTH! Read me out now…lol. When we read James 4:7, the Holy Spirit (who tells us all things spoken by the Father, Son) shows us the correct way to handle temptation. He says to humble ourselves before God. What does that mean? I’ll explain it this way: when you stand in the presence of greatness you understand that you can learn something from it, you understand that GREATNESS knows more than you know, that it’s in your best interest to PAY ATTENTION. So once we humble ourselves before Greatness(GOD). He then says RESIST the devil (or another name for him is TEMPTER). Resist (Withstand the action or effect of), and the devil (tempter) will flee! 

See when we read how Jesus effectively withstood the actions of the tempter, he had no choice but to leave him. Temptation generally comes when you are “hungry” or have not “eaten” in a while. That’s when it seems it’s almost unbearable to conquer. But like I told ya’ll in last week…YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR. See it doesn’t matter what form the devil comes to tempt you in…Sex, Money, Drugs, Death, Lying, WHATEVER…he is no match for your mouth, IF THE RIGHT WORDS are coming forth from it. Jesus simply spoke THE WORD. You know it’s what His SPIRIT had eaten (prayer, meditation on the word of God, purpose, etc) that’s what made Him effective.

I believe to this day..if in the garden, when the devil approached Eve and said: “Did God really say that you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?”(Geneis 3:1) she should have responded: ” We may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden EXCEPT the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” (Genesis 2:16-17) Simple and to the point, and then “GET THEE AWAY FROM ME SATAN.”

So the moral of this story is…RESIST (Speak the word) to any temptation that comes your way..and watch it flee! It has NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER. You must fill your WELL with the depth of the word…IT’S YOUR WEAPON! It’s not what goes into your mouth that makes you unclean, but what comes out!

My objective in this personal message to my supporters is to set the record straight on why I divorced my ex-wife, to clear my daughter’s and fiancé’s name, and to give you the truth. I’m not here to throw anyone under the bus, but I refuse to remain silent while people slander my name because the other parties involved are refusing to speak up for me and about their involvement in this matter. I regret having to continue to speak on this but you all need to know the truth from my perspective.

It does not feel good when people make comments saying that I left my wife for a younger woman and a baby!! It’s simply not the truth & the truth is recorded in heaven! Heaven keeps good records & i have no reason to lie!!! I met the young lady when i moved to L.A a broken mess & God used her to keep me from committing suicide twice!! I do admit that she did get pregnant before my divorce was final as my divorce carried on for over a year. However an abortion was not an option for me so I covered her & she covered me while we both repented of our sins & submit to spiritual leadership. As a sign of humility & accountability, I have not preached on any platform in any church for one year!! I’ve paid my penalty for my sin!!
I understand that my ex-wife wants to keep quiet & she has that right but to allow people to think this way about me while she remain Quiet is not cool when I was a good husband, not perfect but a good husband & friend to her for years!! I take full responsibility for my actions but I WILL NOT take responsibility for the cause of my actions. I don’t expect Damita to be bold enough to go public because people will take your transparency & rub it in your face & even Christians who are called to restore & forgive will be ready to throw stones at her for something that God has forgiven her for & is in her past. Unfortunately, we happen to live in a religious community that preach forgiveness but when the opportunity presents itself to show it they just don’t do it!!!

However, I do expect Isaac Carree to stand up and be man enough to own his mistakes & give his fans the truth they deserve to know. I appreciate your new song ‘Clean this house”, you know I’ve always been a fan of yours since day one & I’ve never done anything to hurt you but you left one sin out of your song that would have set the record straight & solidified my healing process & that is adultery! I hate to see you walk in deception when it’s unnecessary. Yes I have forgiven you but I want to see you be the true man that God is calling for all us to be. The Gospel community & church has had enough deception. Let’s come clean in 2013. I forgive you & I love you bro but it’s time to be real.

For those that are small minded & will say that I may be jealous of Isaac. That is incorrect, I have always shown my support to him & I celebrate the gifts that God has blessed us with in the Kingdom. However, I have kept quiet & covered him for 2 years since I found out & it wasn’t easy to watch the man that broke up my home run around singing on stages as if he had done nothing devastating to a his fellow brother in the Gospel!!

I have moved on… God has blessed me with a baby that has in many ways neutralized the enemies darts that have been thrown against me. Please let it go down in the books that I did not leave Damita for a younger woman, that is not just not the truth!!
Isaac the ball is in your court & no longer in mine. I sincerely wish you the best but it’s time for us to be real if we’re gonna spread this Gospel. Anything other than that is unnecessary hypocrisy!! I don’t need an apology but your fans deserve an apology for the damage that have been caused by your actions!!
I truly apologize for the damage all this has & will cause the Gospel community & the church. I never dreamed in a million years that I would be part of such foolishness but I’m determined to never bring this kind of shame to the body of Christ again!!

Well…that’s a mouthful.

Here is a picture of Isaac Carree and his wife and beautiful child. Isaac’s wife did accompany him to this years Stellar Awards, so I pray that they are able to allow God to restore their marriage. This being Isaac’s 2nd marriage, the former member of Men of Standard, has a lot of work to do. Yet I am assured that if he trust God, it can be done.

After reading that, the one thing is for sure, he has not thrown the rock and hid his own hand. He is still covering his EX wife…even though it seems as if he wanted her to do the same. This is crazy..yet I’ll just be sure to pray for them rather than judge them!

Now I’m here to tell you that’s not always easy, but we must make up our mind and our hearts that only what God says, will take root, in us, that we may produce what HE CONSIDERS GOOD FRUIT. No matter what the enemy throws at you, STAND! Know that as long as you don’t give up, you don’t give in, YOU WILL BE STILL HERE, and you will SEE WHAT GOD HAS SAID. -MARGO
