Let me be one of the first to thank Monica for getting back to her roots. Every since the making of her last album Still Standing, Monica has been delivering that true R/B. She has definitely come to understand, that in order to evolve, you don’t have to “leave” your lane, you just need to expand it, and take the fans to new heights through your different experiences that has occurred since the “last” album.

I smell another #1 album, but this time let’s make it #1 on top 200! Check out the brand new video for ANYTHING TO FIND YOU ft. Rick Ross (as he attempts to channel his inner B.I.G.) and this video reminds me of Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love” it was directed by Chris Robinson (who also directed the LOVE ALL OVER ME VIDEO)…and yet it’s still fly. Reebok Classics, girls doing the wop..all that. The only thing missing is Missy Elliot. The artists are doing all they can to bring that true R/B back…90’s baby!
Anthony Hamilton, if the songs that I’m hearing are any indication, new album is going to be a banger. This latest joint, One Last Time, just shows him in his element, soulful.
Adonis has laid his pen to pad again, and came up with a hot one: Nearest Exit. This songwriter just has the knack of tapping into everyday life, on a level that’s all his. If you not familiar with him, just know he is the one who penned STILL STANDING, (the single) for Monica. Check out this joint produced by Dapo Torimiro and Harvey Mason.
When I watched this Webisode it took me through an evolution of Bow Wow. From Lil Bow Wow, to Bow, from rapper to actor, from boy to man, and now Fatherhood! This evolution has taken some getting use to from his fans, with his style changing up from squeaky clean image to channeling at times his “uncle” Snoop Dogg.
But I must say this album is much anticipated from Bow. I love hearing a star speak on their on behalf. Letting there fans know what’s real and what’s fake. Bow Wow, since becoming a father took to his own blog to speak about becoming a father, the delay of his album, and his relationships. Things that he could simply leave out there for people to continue to speculate about, but instead he decided to put it all into the music. It’s how he connects with his fans. So So Def’s R/B singer Dondria recently performed Live at ATL Pride during Labor Day Weekend. Check out her performance. I love it when she sings the chorus acapella at the end, for any who think she only sounds good in the studio.
Dawn Richard (Danity Kane, Diddy Dirty Money), just gave her fans a treat, and dropped this hot joint: LOVE WON’T LOSE. Dawn pours her heart out on this song to the love of her life (enters AnthonyQ with MEDICINE) LOL. I never get tired of hearing this lady sing. The uniqueness of her voice, and her ability to embrace that gift, and rap it up in such a way, that you believe every word she is saying. I’m telling you, even though she and Que have taken their relationship out of the spotlight, they are still one of the most loved celebrity couples left. Definitely praying that they make it.
Now even though Em himself is not actually on this version, it takes me back to 2005, when I heard Prophet Kim Clement speak concerning 3 rappers that God was going to raise up, fill with His Spirit, to take back the youth from the hand of the enemy. I have not anticipated a gospel album as much as I have Jessica Reedy’s. Well the wait is almost over. The album is available for pre-order right now on Itunes, aptly entitled: FROM THE HEART.
